Platypus frolicking in Laura creek, NSW tablelands

So incredible to see Platytpus up this close.

Platypus coming up to see what’s going on…

It is such a privilege to be able to see a wild creature such as this Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) in it’s natural habitat. Even more exciting to sense that the animal is curious, that it has deliberately swam over to eyeball YOU and see what is going on.

This happened after a patient week of observation, and by taking time to sit very quietly by the creek side.

Video taken with Canon R10 and RF100-400mm lens, handheld (as you’ll notice).

Feedback welcome.
