Freshwater Crocodile

This ‘freshie’ was – very unusually – right up on the bank, and very visible to all the visitors (including us) to the Fogg dam nature reserve, near Herbert in the NT. I pulled out my Canon R10 camera and 100-400RF zoom and grabbed a few photos. I later found out that she had made a nest on the bank and had laid some eggs. She was visibly agitated and at times, hissing at people who got too close. Interesting to see up close – as they are usually very shy; but in many ways I wish the people had gone away and left her in peace.
